Herman Lindgren, 95, of O'Neill, Nebraska passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the O'Neill Care Center in O'Neill. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, Nebraska; with Pastor Steven Breazier officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.Herman was born on August 27, 1922 to John and Anna (Johnson) Lindgren. He was the 7th child in a family of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. He was the last child of the Lindgren family to leave this world. During his lifetime Herman worked for farmers in the Wakefield and Emerson, NE area until 1952, when he found work in the Lynch area for various farmers. Upon returning to the Emerson area in the 1960s, he worked at the Waldbaum’s Egg Plant in Wakefield, NE. In 1976, Herman started working as a janitor for the Emerson-Hubbard Schools and was employed there until his retirement in 1990. After retirement he moved back to Lynch to spend his retirement years. Herman enjoyed learning about history and trains. Herman is survived by a niece, Mary Hildebrandt of LaGrande, OR. Herman is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Harry Lindgren, Louise Ann Carie, Mary Lindgren, Lilly Alice Lehnerz, Hilda Mary Garrett, Harold Lindgren, and Hildeen John Lindgren.
