Janet Lurane (Wagner) Vogt, 74, of Pender, Nebraska passed away with her family by her side on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Heritage of Emerson in Emerson, NE. A funeral service will be Friday, April 5, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in rural Pender; Pastor Kathy Montira will be officiating. A visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2019 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. The burial will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. When driving to the church, place take Highway 16 to County Road 12 and turn south for one mile and turn east. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.
Janet was born June 2, 1944 to Justin and Irene (Lander) Wagner in Pender. She graduated from Pender High School in 1962. After graduation, Janet lived and worked in Sioux City, IA before moving to Omaha, NE where she became a secretary.
Janet married Gerald Vogt at the First Presbyterian Church in Pender on June 25, 1966. The couple spent their married life on a farm west of Pender. Together they had three children, Kim, Brad, and Steve.
Janet was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She and her sister, Dianne, owned and ran the Gingham Girl on Main Street Pender. Janet also worked for Heese Produce and Puckett Florist. Her favorite hobby was making crafts and jewelry as Designs by Janet.
Janet loved her grandchildren and attending all of their activities and sporting events. She also loved and looked forward to going to coffee with her friends.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gerald Vogt of Pender, NE; daughter, Kim (Robb) Roeber of Pender, NE; sons, Brad and (Karin) Vogt of Bancroft, NE and Steve (Keri) Vogt of Elkhorn, NE; nine grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsi, Katie, Allie, Lucas, Dylan, Ella, Reagan, and Brooklyn; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Tenley, Ty, and Kennedi; sisters, Dianne (Dennis) Habrock of Emerson, NE and Lori (Larry) Fangmeier of Hebron, NE, and many other beloved family members.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Justin and Irene Wagner.
