Karen E. Beutler

Karen E. Beutler, 85, of Pender, NE, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bancroft. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft.

Karen was born in Pender, NE on October 28, 1939, the daughter of Otto and Clara (Schroeder) Westerhold. Following her graduation from Pender High School in 1956, Karen was united in marriage to Duane Beutler on June 23, 1956, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Pender. To this union, a son, David, and a daughter, Debra were born. When Duane entered the United States Army, together they were stationed in Virginia and California. They later came back to Nebraska and farmed in the Bancroft area until their retirement in 2009, when they moved into Pender. Throughout her full life, Karen was involved and enjoyed sewing, Altar Guild, card club, and her weekly coffee group with special friends for over 35 years. Duane passed away on July 2, 2023. She then moved into Prairie Breeze, where Karen resided until her passing.

Karen is survived by her son, David (Becky) Beutler of Republic, MO; daughter, Debra (Grant) Sletten of Webster City, IA; grandchildren, Lindsey (Beau) Davis, Miranda (Dustin) Schutte, Kayla Beutler, Jordan Beutler, Faith (Shawn) Bryant, Amy (Tony) Taylor, Eric Sletten, and Emily (Noah) Ronnfeldt; 19 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marlene (Richard) Hermelbracht of Bancroft, NE; brothers-in-law, Mylon (Carol) Beutler of Bancroft, and Lawrence Doffin of Wisner, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Duane; brother, Ken (Rosie) Westerhold; and a sister, Jan Doffin.
