Kathryn “Kaytee” M. Paul, 95, of Emerson, NE, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, with a luncheon to follow. A graveside memorial service for Kathryn will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA; Pastor Charlotte Eversoll will be officiating both services. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson, NE is assisting with the services.
Kathryn was born on April 3, 1927, on the farm at Hornick, the oldest daughter of Charles and Helen (Meeks) Hindman. She grew up in Sioux City, IA, graduating from Central High School in 1945. She then attended Nettleton Business School.
Kaytee met her future husband, Milford “Curly” Paul, while roller-skating at the staking rink in Sioux City. The married on April 27, 1947 at the Whitfield Methodist Church in Sioux City. The lived in Iowa, Florida, Nebraska, and retired to their lake home in Minnesota.
Kathryn enjoyed her church and church family, reading, word find puzzles, crafts, games, the great outdoors, and most of all, her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Larry) Miller; son-in-law, Bruce Mehrhoff; granddaughters, Martinique (Aaron) Peters, Amanda Phommavong, Meggan (Brad) Ernst, Chelsea (Jordan) Helget; sister, Barbara Simet; eight great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Kaytee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milford; daughter, Sandra Mehrhoff; siblings, Milton Hindman, Donald Hindman and Margret Kersey.
