Kenneth D. Green

Kenneth Dale Green, 81, of Pender, NE passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender.  The funeral will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; with Pastor Karen McNeill – Utecht officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.  Burial will be at a later date.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. 

Kenny was born on September 16, 1939, to Dale and Doreen (Coleman) Green in Kilgore, NE.  Kenny graduated from High School in Cody, NE in 1958.  After graduation, he started driving truck.  Kenny married Virginia “Molly” and to this union they had three children, Dwaine, Kenneth “Todd”, and Dalene.  On February 19, 1997, Kenny married Marilyn Greve in Bassett, NE.

Before Kenny’s retirement, he received the Safe Driving Award from the Nebraska Champion Driver’s for 50 years of safe driving.  Kenny was a people’s person.  He enjoyed having coffee with fellow truck drivers and sharing stories from the previous week.   He took great pride in his grandchildren, he attended their sporting events every opportunity he had, even if that meant driving an additional two hours.  Kenny was a lifelong truck driver and enjoyed every minute of it. 

Kenny is survived by his wife Marilyn Green of Pender, sons, Todd (Jody) Green of Pender, NE, DeWayne (Julie) Roberts of Malcolm, NE; daughters, Dalene (Bob) Skates of North Platte, NE, Debbie Arroyo of Bellevue, NE, Jacquie Case of Omaha, NE; brothers, Harold (Elizabeth) Green, Jim (Lynne) Green, Gary (Jenny) Green; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Doreen Green; infant son, Dwaine Green; and first wife, Virginia “Molly” Green.
