Larry L. Lueders

Larry L. Lueders, 61, of Emerson, NE died on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender.  The funeral service will be Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, with Pastor Charlotte Eversoll officiating.  The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. 

Larry was born on March 3, 1960 in Pender, to Harold and Adell (Essmann) Lueders.  He graduated from Emerson-Hubbard High School in 1978.  He attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE, and then returned home to farm with his dad.  Larry lived on the farm his entire life.

Larry was a loving and loyal son, caring for his parents who both lived past 90 years of age.  He accompanied Harold on the final Siouxland Honor Flight in the fall of 2009.  Although he was an only child, he was a family man, one to be genuinely concerned about the welfare of his aunts, uncles and many cousins and their families.  He made an effort to keep in touch and attend all gatherings, as he was able. 

He was very proud of his son Tim, daughter-in-law, Niki and grandchildren Kopelin (6), Kashlynn (4), and Kolston (10 months).  He treasured his stack of photographs of them, some of which he kept in his car, ready and available to show to family and friends.  Larry enjoyed visiting his neighbors and friends.  He had a great memory for names and birthdays.  He had a special concern to help younger men who had an interest in farming and cattle.  More recently, he enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota, South Dakota and a trip to Alaska. 

Larry was survived by his son, Tim (Niki) Haglund of Wakefield, NE, and their children Kopelin, Kashlynn and Kolston; uncles, Glen (Helen) Lueders, Herman Jr. (Arlene) Essmann; aunt, Mae Kidwell; cousin, Judy Anderson; many numerous other cousins, friends and neighbors. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
