Larry Carl Lueth

Larry Carl Lueth, 83, of Wakefield, NE died on Monday, October 5, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Laurel surrounded by his family.  The funeral service for Larry will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield.  The visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church.  There will be a prayer service held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening.  Burial with military honors will be in the Wakefield Cemetery.  For those wishing to attend the commital service, please join the family at the Wakefield Cemetery at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.  Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.

Larry was born on June 19, 1937 in Emerson, NE, the son of Carl and Lena (Dempke) Lueth.  After graduating from Emerson High School, Larry joined the United States Army.  Larry was united in marriage to Barbara Stark in Sioux City, IA on March 30, 1958.  To this union three children were born, Wesley, Jackie and Racquel.  He worked for the City of Wakefield for 27 years before working for several years at Great Dane Trailers in Wayne, NE until his retirement. 

Larry was a member of the Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department and Salem Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and scratch lottery tickets.  Most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Jackie (Todd) Swigart of Phoenix, AZ, Racquel (Bryan) Holloway of Laurel, NE; daughter-in-law, Jolene Lueth of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren, Andrea Wahls, Aaron Lueth, Brooks Swigart, Abby Swigart, Tom Holloway, Jarrod Henderson, Abygayl Holloway, Bayley Holloway, Madysyn Holloway; six great grandchildren; sisters, Joann (Hans) Nelsen of Emerson, NE, Carol (Dave) Carr of Emerson, NE; sister-in-law, Janice Lueth of Emerson, NE.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; son, Wesley Lueth; brother Alvin Lueth.
