Larry Pullen, 86, of Oakland, NE, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Oakland Heights Assisted Living in Oakland. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Rosalie, NE; Pastor Steven Breazier will be officiating. The visitation will be Friday, June 2, 2017 at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The burial we be on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Elk City Cemetery in Elk City, NE. Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Rosalie. Larry was born August 9, 1930 in Tekamah, NE to Loren and Dorothy (Meier) Pullen. On November 30, 1950, he married Joan Louise Renard in Hooper, NE; to this union five children were born. Larry was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rosalie, card club, and the Rosalie Old Settlers. Larry and Joan once served as king and queen of the Old Settlers. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, word searches and Sudoku puzzles, as well as stripping furniture, collecting and shelling black walnuts. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife Joan Pullen of Oakland, NE; son, Larry Michael Pullen (Sammi Osterlund) of Fremont, NE; daughters, Margaret (Keith) Burge of Waterloo, NE, Kathy (Marlin) Greenfield of Uehling, NE, Ruth (Eric) Tippery of Fremont, NE, Amy (Corey) Acklin of Omaha, NE; sister, Harriet and brother, Robert; and 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
