Lelan Hingst, 80, of Concord, NE died on Thursday, January 20, 2022. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; Pastor Charlotte Eversoll will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. Lelan was born along with his twin brother Verlan on August 30, 1941, in Emerson, NE to Harland and Marie (Reher) Hingst. After he graduated from Emerson High School, Lelan farmed. On July 28, 1962, he was united in marriage at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church to Judith Gatzemeyer. To this union four sons were born; Rick, Chad, Troy, and Cory. He continued to farm until the mid-1980s. Lelan then farmed with Elton Miller in Wakefield, NE until his passing. Lelan enjoyed camping, hunting, playing pitch, horseshoes, checkers, and a spirited game of ping pong. He had a love for the Huskers, the Green Bay Packers, deserts of all kinds, but most of all time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Rick (Michelle) Hingst of Bloomfield, NE, Chad (Marisa) Hingst of Wakefield, NE, Troy (Page) Hingst of Bloomfield, NE, Cory (Staci) Hingst of Norfolk, NE; grandchildren, Dilan Hingst, Nate Hingst, Alexandria Paquin, Tisean Schulz, Ashlee Hingst, Bentley Hingst, Zach Hingst, Damien Hingst, Devin Hingst, Aurora Hingst, and Mariah Hingst; great grandchildren, Emery Paquin, Ember Paquin, Declan Hingst, Delaney Hingst, Dominick Ortiz, and Adrian Ortiz; sisters, Reta (Jim) Bodwell of Pilger, NE, Diane (Dave) Jensen of Stanton, NE, Carolyn (Dean) Sievers of Holdrege, NE; brothers, Verlan (Vicky) Hingst of Allen, NE, Dennis (Ida) Hingst of Holdrege, NE; sisters-in-law, Judy Hingst of Emerson, NE, Phyllis Todd of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Pat Gatzemeyer of Daytona, FL; brother-in-law, Donny (Karen) Gatzemeyer of South Sioux City, NE; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lelan was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith in 2011; brothers, Marlan Hingst, and Rollan “Shorty” Hingst; brother-in-law, Raymond Gatzemeyer; sisters-in-law, Carol Ruskowsky, and Dorothy Hingst.
