Leon Myron "Fritz" Fredrickson, 85, of Emerson, NE passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE. The funeral will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE, with Pastor Patti Meyer officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson, NE.
Leon was born on July 16, 1938, to LeVern and Genevieve (Hallstrom) Fredrickson in Wakefield, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at the Wakefield Covenant Church and currently a member at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1956. After graduation he attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux City, IA. He was married to Lela Rager.
Known as one of the best implement parts men in Northeast Nebraska. He worked for Guy Cramer at Wakefield Implement, John Schroeder at Schroeder Implement, and was employed by Fay Mattison, Jim Mattison and Ralph Oswald. He also worked for John Deere dealerships in Jackson, Wayne, and Pender. He retired from Pender Implement after being employed for 20 years. After retirement, he helped Breck Giese at the Emerson Grain Elevator. Leon will be remembered for his remarkable memory of implement part numbers and for his hearty laugh. He was an active member of the Abu Bekr Shriners, Masons, 30-year volunteer for the Emerson Fire & Rescue, and a board member of the Emerson Rose Hill Cemetery. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing. In 2017, Leon moved to Heritage of Emerson in Emerson.
Leon is survived by his sisters, Janelle (Paul) Eaton, Lynette (Terry) Roth, and Diane (Jim) Martin; 9 nieces and nephews, Curt Fredrickson, Mark Fredrickson, Chad Martin, Jonathan Martin, Cory Roth, Jason Roth, Katie Jenks, Maria Michaelis, and Mindy Wondercheck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dale Fredrickson.
