Leroy E. Fuchser, 93, of Emerson, NE, died on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE, after a brief illness. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church of Emerson. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Munderloh–Smith Funeral Home in Emerson is in charge of the arrangements.
Leroy was born in Emerson, NE, on September 27, 1930, the son of George and Marie (Zwygart) Fuchser. Following school, Leroy began farming near Emerson. He was united in marriage to Donna Barge at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson on January 27, 1952. To this union five children were born, Donald, Susan, Ronald, Jane, and Jona. Donna died on November 6, 1979. On December 3, 1982, he married Betty (James) Bridenbaugh. She died on April 15, 1994. Leroy continued to farm until a few years ago. He enjoyed the farm, driving truck, golfing, bowling, cards, and dancing. Most of all he enjoyed his family.
Leroy is survived by his children, Donald (Donna) Fuchser of Hubbard, NE, Susan Troutt of Elkhorn, NE, Ronald (Dianne) Fuchser of Emerson, Jane (Joe) Vraspir of Eagle, NE, and Jona Burns of Lincoln, NE; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson. He is also survived by a sister Irene Van Lent of Emerson, NE; a brother, Ervin Fuchser of Emerson, NE; and a special friend, Vi Heckens of Emerson, NE.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wives Donna and Betty; grandchildren, Jen Wheelen, Brent Fuchser, twins, Jessica and Terrance Vraspir; sister, Betty Ensminger; son-in-law’s, Chuck Burns and Steve Troutt.
