Linda Ellen Binkley, 69, of West Point, NE, formerly of Emerson, NE, died on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her daughter’s house near West Point, NE. Funeral services for Linda will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE (103 3rd St, Emerson, NE 68733). The visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in West Point, NE (434 North Lincoln Street West Point, NE 68788). Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, NE. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson is in charge of the arrangements.
Linda was born in Fremont, NE on April 21, 1953, to Dowie and Geneva (Tozier) Halweg. She was the last of six siblings. She was baptized in Fremont. She traveled many places throughout her childhood and ended up graduating in California from Bakersfield High in 1971. She would then go on to college only to stop to take care of her mom. Linda worked various job in retail and as a bank teller in her younger years. She was united in marriage to Donald Binkley March 27,1982. Together they raised three children Jonathan, Jennifer, and Angela on the family acreage.
Linda was a stay-at-home mom while the kids were little and then found work at various places but her two favorite wasthe Belle of Sioux City and Midwest Special Services as a driver, she loved being around people. Linda was also known for her handiwork in mending, sewing, and crocheting. You knew you were bound to get something handmade from Linda, she enjoyed handing out potholders to her doctors and nurses as gifts. She had a love for horses and dogs throughout her life, Snickers was her pal for the last 15 years. Linda enjoyed being a grandma to her three granddaughters, her favorite was baking with them. She so just enjoyed spending the last three months with her family and all the visitors who came to see her.
Linda is survived by her children Jonathan (Jenn) Binkley of Fremont, NE Jennifer (Thomas) Maleshafske of Beemer, NE,and Angela (Derek) Bittner of West Point, NE. Grandchildren Adrianna, Clara, and Alivia Bittner, Wyatt and Lillian Binkley, and a new granddaughter Maleshafske coming in November. Brother; Jerry (Judy)Halweg of WA, Sister-in-law; Janice Halweg of NE, Father-in-law; Stanley Binkley of NE, Brother-in-law; Alan Binkley of AZ and close family friends Rod, Debbie, and many other family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Donald Binkley, grandparents, parents (Dowie and Geneva), and four siblings: Geraldine, Erma, Audrey, and LaMont and many other family and friends.
