Lloyd Mackling 72, of Emerson, NE, passed away at his home after a battle with cancer. A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.
Lloyd was born on September 29, 1952, in Pender, NE, the son of Eugene, Sr. and Lois (Bokemper) Mackling. He was raised in Emerson and attended Emerson High School. For many years, Lloyd worked for Iowa Beef and later for Emerson Manufacturing. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Deborah Frye on March 13, 1971 in Yutan, NE. To this union a son and daughter were born. Deb passed away on August 8, 2012. Lloyd continued to live on the farm until his passing. He loved living on his farm, horses and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Richard) Pflanz; grandchildren, Shelby and Michael; brothers, Chet (Cindy) Mackling, Dale Mackling, Al (Sue) Mackling, Jess (Deb) Mackling, Louie Mackling; sister, Deb (James) Chamberlain; and many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Deborah, an infant son; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orville and Donna (Trevett) Frye; brother, Eugene Mackling, Jr.; sister, Karen Welsh.
