Margaret Shadbolt, 88, of Pender, NE died on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender, NE. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Pender, NE. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Pender, NE. Inurnment will be at the Rosehill Cemetery of Pender. Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home of Pender is in charge of the arrangements. Margaret was born on January 8, 1933 to Florence “Eva” and Wally Stewart. She graduated from Walthill High School in Walthill, NE in 1951. Following graduation she worked at the ASCS office in Walthill. She was united in marriage to Arden “Jug” Shadbolt on June 4, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Walthill by Father O’Sullivan. To this union two daughters were born, Jean and Joan. After raising her daughters, Margaret went to work at the Thurston County Clerk’s office in Pender. For many years she was the organist at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Walthill and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Pender. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing and caring for her many cats over the years. Margaret and Jug lived all their married lives in Pender, NE, while Jug owned and ran Shadbolt’s Service Company. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Jean Linafelter of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren, Allison Linafelter of Sioux City, IA, Daniel Sherlock of Emerson, NE, Jonna (Kenny) Mellem of Sioux Falls, SD, and Great grandson Leo Mellem of Sioux Falls, SD; brother Jim Stewart and his friend Barb Basham of Omaha, NE. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Jug; parents; daughter, Joan Moore; granddaughter Erin Jean Linafelter; son-in-law, Elliot Linafelter; sisters, Catherine Evans, Mary Eberhard, Janet Doescher, Florence Majeski and a brother, Roger Stewart.
