Marilyn H. Hansen, 93, of Wakefield, NE, died on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Pacific Springs Village Village in Omaha, NE. The funeral service for Marilyn will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wakefield. The visitation will be held on Friday at the St. John’s Lutheran Church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and will run until the time of the funeral service. The burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Marilyn was born on May 9, 1929, in Pender, NE, the daughter of Henry and Rosa (Schutte) Mueller. Following her graduation from Pender High School, she was united in marriage to William Hansen on December 7, 1947, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The couple lived on her family’s farm for 54 years, until moving into Wakefield in 2003. She was a long-time member of the Ladies Aid at St. John’s Lutheran Church, a member of the ESA, enjoyed playing golf, cards, especially Bridge, and spending her winters with Bill in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. She moved to Omaha in 2013, to be closer to her family.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Jack (Cande) Hansen of Omaha, NE; daughters, Kristi Hansen of Omaha, and Jaynie Spirk of Nelson, NE; six grandchildren, Josh (Tiffany) Hansen, Kiley (Tim) Mischnick, Cale Hansen, all of Omaha, NE, Peter (Sammy) Spirk of Aurora, NE, Ben (Kayla) Spirk of Lincoln, NE, Jacob (Lindsey) Hansen of Omaha, NE; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son-in-law, Jim Spirk; brothers, Ardell and Harlan Mueller; and sister, Mylet Habrock.
