Maxine M. (Castor) Buchholz, 87, of Bancroft, NE went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Stanton Health Care in Stanton, NE. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft; with Pastor Nathan Henschen officiating. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery in Bancroft. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Bancroft is in charge of the arrangements.
Maxine was born on October 13, 1930 to Webster and Mildred (Murphy) Castor in Decatur, NE. She attended and graduated from Decatur High School. She married Willis Buchholz on September 12, 1948 in South Sioux City, NE. The couple moved to the Bancroft area and started farming.
Maxine was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and tending to her flowers. Most importantly, Maxine loved traveling and spending time with her family.
Maxine is survived by her sons, Bradley (Cyndi) Buchholz of Oakland, Brian (Cindy) Buchholz in Bancroft, Aaron (Jean) Buchholz of Omaha, Curtis (Pam) of Pender; daughters, Susan Brown of West Point, Tammie (Troy) Harrington of West Point, Teresa (Rusty) Ruppert of Taylor; 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willis; granddaughter, Amy Buchholz; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Mae Warne; sisters, Hazel Gatzemeyer, Margaret Gatzemeyer, Ruth Greenfield, Opal Waite; brother, Carl Castor.
