Milton “Tuffy” Pallas, 87 of Emerson passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE; with Pastor Gary Harris officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. The family ask, out of respect for Milton please do not wear a tie to the funeral. Milton was born on December 20, 1930 to Jerry and Mary (Paulsen) Pallas in rural Thurston County Nebraska. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954. On February 24, 1957 Milton married Wilma Stolze at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. Milton was a member of the Thurston Legion Post and the Emerson Cemetery Board and served on the St. Paul’s Church Council. He had a love for farming and farmed in Dakota and Thurston County for 48 years. Milton loved golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Milton is survived by his wife, Wilma Pallas of Emerson; daughters, Bonnie (Barry) Clayton of Onawa, IA, Joyce (Michael) Sebade of Emerson, NE, Janeen (Denis) Lueders of Sioux Falls, SD, Nancy (Richard) McQuistan of Vermillion, SD; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, MaryAnn Oetken of Madison, NE, Helen Oetken of Madison, SD; sister-in-law, Loretta Pallas of Lincoln, NE; and many special nieces, nephews and his golfing buddies. Milton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe (Helen) Pallas, Jerry Pallas; sisters, Mildred (Arthur) Oetken, Alice Jean Messerschmidt; brothers-in-law, Herman Oetken, Wayne Oetken; nephew, Ronald Pallas.
