Norma Jean Warner, 87, of Allen, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, NE. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Allen United Methodist Church in Allen, NE; with Pastor Lorri Kentner and Pastor Carol Jean Stapleton officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Allen United Methodist Church, with a prayer service and Eastern Star service starting at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Eastview Cemetery in Allen, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE. Norma was born on the family farm near Dixon, NE on December 19, 1930, the daughter of Ernest and Frieda (Thomsen) Lehner. She attended and graduated from Dixon High School in 1948. On March 18, 1951, Norma was united in marriage to Jimmie Russell Warner. The couple made their home on the farm south of Allen in 1959, where she remained until 2014, when she moved to the Wakefield Health Care Center. To this couple three sons and a daughter were born; Jerry, John, Jack and Jeanne. While raising her children, Norma Jean volunteered her time with Cub Scouts and 4-H. Norma and Jim loved square dancing together. Jim died in 1991. Norma was a Special Education Assistant, playground supervisor and most recently a school bus driver for Allen. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Chatter Sew Club and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash and painting Tole Paintings, she also loved German Shepherd dogs & enjoyed videoing all her sons football games. Most of all she cherished her family and the Sunday dinners they had together. Norma is survived by her sons, Jerry (Sandy) Warner of Briggsdale, CO, John (Melodie) Warner of Kansas City, KS, Jack (Rhonda) Warner of Allen, NE; daughter, Jeanne (Wes) Hermelbracht of Rosalie, NE; ten grandchildren, Jamie (Matt) Nutt, Jordan Warner, Megan Warner, Matt Warner, Justin (Monica) Warner, Jessie Warner, Jenny (Jordan) Lassek, Jarret Warner and special friend Ashley Reese, Molly Hermelbracht and Ty Hermelbracht; six great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Barry) Lynch of Urbandale, IA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmie; infant brother, Richard Lehner; sister, Catherine (Elmer) Echtenkamp.
