Pamela Kay Doescher

Pamela Kay Doescher, 72, of Wayne, NE, passed away at Kinship Point in Wayne on Saturday, December 28, 2024. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. 

Pam was born on March 19, 1952, in Onawa, IA, the daughter of Francis and Shirley (Rowland) Pembrook. Following her graduation from Hartington High School in 1970, Pam attended beauty school in Sioux City. On July 25, 1976, Pam was united in marriage to Val Doescher at Bressler Park in Wayne, NE. She worked as a cook for most of her adult life. She worked at the Hilltop Café near Randolph, PoPo’s in Wayne, the Allen Senior Center, and the Wakefield Senior Center. Following her retirement, Pam and Val moved to Apache Junction, AZ. Pam enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing bingo, and taking care of her animals on the farm. Most of all Pam loved spending time with her family, especially game nights.

She is survived by her husband Val of Wayne, NE; son, Travis Sathe of Norfolk, NE; daughters, Jennifer (Paul) Mahler of Ponca, NE, Ronda Murcek of Concord, NE, and Brandi (Bryon) Transue of Sterling, AK; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Pembrook of Hartington, NE; brother-in-law, Tom Keim of Loup City, NE; nephew Heath (Meredith) Keim of Kearney, NE; and niece, Melanie (Brent) Leonard of Wakefield, NE.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diane Keim; grandsons, Matthew Sathe, and Keegan Mahler; and a granddaughter, Ashlyn Mahler.
