Paul Duane Stewart, 79, of Allen, NE passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at his home in rural Allen. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastview Cemetery in Allen. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh-Smtih Funeral Home in Wakefield.

Paul was born July 11, 1941, in Emerson, Ne to Mahlon and Carmen (Noe) Stewart. He graduated from High School in Waterbury, NE in 1958. After high school Paul moved to Duvall, WA, where he worked as a helmsman on the research vessel the MV Brown Bear, and in a sawmill in Suquamish, WA. Paul returned to Nebraska where he worked for the Swift Packing Plant. Paul married Beverly Benstead on June 2, 1962 in the Springbank Friends Church in Allen, NE. Together the couple bought a farm between Allen and Waterbury, where he farmed, raised horses and cattle, they also sold fertilizer and seed corn. Eventually they bought the Carpanter’s Feed Store in Allen, NE.
He loved carpentry and wood working. In his spare time, he enjoyed building, creating, and engineering different projects of all types. Paul was the past president of Dixon County Farm Bureau Association and helped organize and was a leader for the 4-H group Cottonwood Coyotes.
Paul is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly; sons, Brad (Kris) Stewart of Wayne, NE, Brian (Kelli) of Allen, NE; daughter, Sonya (Dennis) Williams of LaVista, NE; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents; brother Don Stewart; infant sister; nephew Doug, and many other family members and friends.
