Paulina N. Krusemark, 96, of Emerson, NE, died on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home in Emerson, NE. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson. The visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson. Burial will be in the Calvary Catholic Church Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson is in charge of the arrangements.
Paulina was born near Emerson, NE, on May 18, 1927, the daughter of John and Virginia (Beargeon) Paulsen. She attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Emerson. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Krusemark on January 31, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Together the couple had ten children. She helped LeRoy on the farm. After LeRoy’s death in 1989, Paulina remained on the farm for a few years before moving into Emerson. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church her entire life, serving on the Altar Society and teaching CCD. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, playing cards, and tending to her garden. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her family.
Paulina is survived by sons, Harlan (MaryAnn) Krusemark of Thornton, CO, David (Cindy) Krusemark of Waterbury, NE, Bryan (Carmen) Krusemark of South Sioux City, NE, Duane (Jean) Krusemark of Crescent, IA; daughters, Ann (Tim) Waldschmidt of Annandale, MN, Debra (Jesse) Mackling of Laurel, NE; son-in-law, Robert Wendte of Emerson, NE; 26 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, LeRoy; sons, Daniel Krusemark, Dale Krusemark, Kenneth Krusemark; daughter, Glenda Wendte; granddaughter, Laura Wendte; two brothers, and three sisters.
