Richard E. Anderson

Richard “Rich” Ernest Anderson, 70, of Emerson, NE, passed away suddenly on Monday November 15, 2021 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson; Father Jerry Leise will be officiating. The memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery of Emerson, NE. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Emerson Betterment Group or Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rich was born on October 4, 1951 in Emerson, NE, the son of John and Margaret (Clasemann) Anderson. He grew up in Emerson and graduated from Emerson – Hubbard High School in 1969. Following graduation, Rich, worked his family farm from 1976 to 1999, until they moved into town. He was active in his church and community. He loved his family, watching his boys and grandchildren play sports, and had a strong faith in God. He was hardworking, kind, and would help anyone in need. He is survived by wife, Theresa of Emerson, NE; sons, Cory (Angie) of Bennington, NE, Justin (Jennie) of Lincoln, NE, Aaron (Aliscia) of Fremont, and Marc (Betsy) of Emerson, NE; grandchildren, Caden Anderson, Alyssa Anderson, Conor (Adrian) Schley, Jordan (Matt) Peppmuller, Ben (Sari) Murphy, Whitney Schley, Emma Murphy, Myah Anderson, McCray Anderson, Logan Anderson, Brynn Anderson, Briley Anderson, Grayson Anderson, Benton Anderson, Grady Anderson; great grandchildren, Carson Peppmuller and Eleanora Murphy; brothers, Duane “Andy” (Terri) Anderson, and John (Sue) Anderson; many nieces and nephews, and his “Favorite” Aunt Gertrude. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and daughter-in-law, Kelly Anderson.
