At an early age, the family moved to Brookfield, MO, where she graduated from High School in 1964. She received her Librarian Certification soon after. In 1965, she began dating Stephen Schrock. They were united in marriage on June 28, 1969, at the Catholic Church in Brookfield, MO. To this union three children were born, Sam, Tess, and Sarah. Rita and Steve moved to several places with Steve’s job. Rita dedicated her life to the service of others. Rita cherished her Holy Rosary Parish and members and St. Agnes Academy and believed in their purpose and fundraised diligently for decades. As a child Rita sang in the church choir that her father directed. She continued that passion by singing in her church choir for over twenty years. Singing was one of Rita’s many talents and joys. Passing on her faith to others and her family was one of the greatest gifts Rita left behind. After raising their family in Alliance, NE, Rita and Steve moved to Wakefield, NE, in 2007 to be near family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, learning, and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
