Robert A. Dohrman

Robert Alan Dohrman, 67, of Thurston, NE, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his wife and children. Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE; Pastor Gary Harris officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. Following the coffee at the church, the family invites everyone to continue the celebration of Bob’s life at the Thurston Bar. Robert was born June 26, 1950 in Wakefield, NE to Walter Henry and Margaret Rita (Beardshire) Dohrman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Robert graduated from Emerson High School in 1968 and married Diane Hammer on September 6, 1969 in Emerson. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1969 to 1975. Robert was a member of the American Legion, St. Luke Lutheran Church, and the NRA. Robert purchased Dohrman Manufacturing in Emerson from his father, Walt Dohrman. DV Industries was formed with Robert’s business partner in 1984. Tekton Incorporated was formed in 1985, to serve as the parent corporation, under which DV Industries and all future companies would fall. From 1985 to present there have been several companies under the Tekton umbrella including DV plants in Pender, West Point and Wayne, DV Diversified in Pender, DV FyreTec in Wayne, DV Chukker in AZ and BCI in Omaha. At its busiest, Tekton employed over 180 employees, and did metal fabrication and laser work, as well as government contract work with both the United States Post Office and military. FyreTec continues to operate in window fabrication today. Robert purchased “Babes” of Thurston NE in June of 2007, changing the name to Thurston Bar.   He is survived by his wife, Diane Dohrman of Thurston, NE; sons, Tony Robert Dohrman of Phoenix, AZ, Matthew Alan (Monica) Dohrman of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Heather Diane (Kevin) Beadle of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Ken (Sharron) Dohrman of Phoenix, AZ, Jerry (Susie Bergeson) Dohrman of Dakota Dunes, SD, Richard (Ellie Gerard) Dohrman of Phoenix, AZ; brothers-in-law, Joe Caid of Tucson, AZ and Darold “Woody” Hammer of Elk Point, SD; sister-in-law, Vona Fulton of Lexington Park, MD; grandchildren, Hannah, Allissa, Morgan, Payten, Olivia, and Hudson along with numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Andrea Caid; brother-in-law, Walter Fulton; and son-in-law, Sgt. Michael Finke, Jr.
