Roy Arnold Barclay, 77, of Walthill, Nebraska passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home in Walthill. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Homer, NE; Vicar David Hawkins will be officiating. The visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church. The burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery in Homer. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. Roy was born November 10, 1939 to Walter and Kathlyn (Matney) Barclay in South Sioux City, NE. He attended school in South Sioux City. Roy married Sharon Rose on February 27, 1964 in Luverne, MN. They were married for 48 years until Sharon’s passing on June 3, 2012. Roy was the owner of Barclay Salvage after working in the logging business and farming for many years. Roy enjoyed attending farm and truck auctions and was a lifelong resident of Dakota and Thurston County. Roy is survived by his sons, David (Carrie) Barclay of Homer, NE, Joe Cain of Akron, IA; daughter, Tammy (Philip) Meyer of Storm Lake, IA; sisters, Kathyln Holgate of Winnebago, NE, Eva Cain of Homer, NE, Mary Wingert of New Denim, LA, Sandra Chamberlain of Homer, NE; brothers, Carol Barclay of Homer, NE, Donald Barclay of Homer, NE, Robert Barclay of Homer, NE, Duane Barclay of Homer, NE; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents; son, Patrick Barclay; and brother, Walter (Bubs) Barclay.
