Sheila Kathleen Larson

Sheila Kathleen Larson, 76, of Omaha died Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  Services will be on Friday, April 8, 2022, all services at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. Visitation is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. with Paster Rebecca Sells from Lord of Love in Omaha, NE officiating. The burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Sheila was born June 3, 1945 in Pender to Herman D. Heyne and Martha A. (Wollmer) Heyne. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. Sheila graduated from Pender High School in 1963, and from the University of Nebraska School of Nursing in Omaha, NE. She taught nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Methodist College of Nursing, Iowa Western College, College of Saint Mary’s in Omaha, NE, St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK, and Tulsa Community College. Sheila returned to Omaha in 2019.

Sheila is survived by her daughter, Dawn Ranee (Todd) Birkes of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Andrew (Allison) Wiseman, Nickolas Birkes, Kel-C Birkes; great-grandson, Oliver Wiseman; sisters, Carolyn (Ted) Von Seggern of Pender, NE, Beverly (G.E.) Peterson of Oakland, NE; many nieces and nephews; foster children, foster grandkids; and friends.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, RL McConnaha; and cousin Paul Scott.
