Stanley C. Binkley, 98, of Oakland, NE, formerly of Hubbard, NE, died January 20, 2023, at Oakland Heights in Oakland, NE. The visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. The Funeral will at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Charlotte Eversoll officiating. The burial with Military Honors will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.
Stanley was born on January 19, 1925, in Emerson, NE to Charles Binkley and Lillian (Cook) Binkley-Hirsch. He was baptized in Emerson in 1933. He attended and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1942. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in World War II, from June 1943 until January of 1946. On September 10, 1946, Stanley married Dorothy Johnson and together they raised three children, Alan, Carol and Donald. They farmed from 1948 until the summer of 2016. Stanley was a hard-working man, he worked for Armor Packing Plant for 23 years, Beerman Brothers Dehy, and ran his own farm raising crops, cattle, and hogs. He was an active member with Farm Bureau for many years and served as the vice president. He got along well with anyone he met and had a love for his family, farming, and Husker football.
He is survived by his son, Alan Binkley of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Kimberly Binkley of Mesa, AZ, Jonathan (Jennifer) Binkley of Fremont, NE, Jennifer (Thomas) Maleshafske of Beemer, NE, and Angela (Derek) Bittner of West Point, NE; eight great grandchildren, Anthony Valentin, Joshua Binkley-Weatherbee, Wyatt Binkley, Lillian Binkley, Gwyneth Maleshafske, Adrianna Bittner, Clara Bittner, Alivia Bittner; sister, Judy Hoch of South Sioux City, NE; brother, Virgil (Judith) Binkley of Townsend, MT; sister-in-law, Roxie Hirsch of South Sioux City, NE; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy of 52 years; daughter, Carol; son, Donald; daughters-in-law, Dixie Binkley, Linda Binkley; sisters, Janet Garrett, Ruth Brehmer, Dorothy Fisk; brother, Ronald Hirsch; special friend Rosie Casey; and many other loved ones.
