Stephen W. Pederson entered into his rest, January 22, 2021, at his son's home in Corcoran, MN. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.
The funeral will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church (1013 River Drive, North Sioux City, SD). Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2021 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the church. A luncheon will follow the funeral. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery in Bancroft, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE.
Stephen was born January 27, 1940, and baptized into God’s grace shortly thereafter. Steve was married to his beloved wife, Janice on November 22, 1967. They were blessed in marriage for 53 years, having three children, and ten grandchildren. Steve was a gifted teacher in the public school system of the Sioux City area, 1962-1979. He later became a principal and teacher at Dakota Lutheran School 1978 (North Sioux City) and following. Steve and Janice moved to retire in Pleasant Hill, Missouri in 2004, living in the area for several years, near many of their grandchildren.
Steve was a lifelong confessional Lutheran, in the fellowship of the Lutheran Churches of the Reformation (LCR) from 1964 to the present day. His Savior called him to life everlasting, January 22, 2021, while he was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Corcoran, Minnesota.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Janice, and three children, Tobin (Anna) Pederson, Amanda (Paul Hunter), Nathan (Christine) Pederson; ten grandchildren, Alicia, James, Jesse, Levi, Roman, Lukas, Christal, Johnpaul (Hunter), Talitha Pederson, Olivia Pederson; his brother, Herb Pederson; sister, Dorcas Balcer.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Tobias and Gertrude Pederson, Paul and Ted Pederson, Melburne and Connie Johnson.
