Vera R Grone

Vera R. (Kai) Grone, 76, of Bancroft, NE passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Legacy Garden Living and Rehabilitation Center in Pender, NE. Funeral services will be Monday, March 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft; Pastor Nathan Henschen will be officiating. The visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft. Vera was born on January 23, 1943 in Pender, NE the daughter of Robert and Leota (Ball) Kai. She graduated from Pender High School in 1961. Vera was united in marriage to Maurice Grone on June 6, 1964 in Pender.   Vera and Maurice farmed near Bancroft. On June 19, 2005, Maurice passed away.  She continued to live on the farm until 2010, when Vera moved to Pender. Vera was a member of the St. Paul’s Alter Guild, and enjoyed gardening and going to her grandkid’s sporting events. Vera is survived by her sons, Steve Grone of Pender, NE and Ryan Grone of Pender, NE; daughter, Rhonda (Bill) Anderson of Defiance, IA; brothers, Gene (Bev) Kai of Santa Maria, CA, Ron (Priscilla) Kai of Denver, CO, and Delwin (Carla) Kai of Pender, NE; and three grandchildren, Mitchell Anderson, Derek (Melissa) Anderson, and Rachel Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband Maurice.
